John Sower
John is co-founder and President of Chesapeake Business Finance Corp. He has made hundreds of SBA 504 loans in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Previously he was Senior Director of the National Development Council where for 10 years he managed staffers in five cities who helped finance over $2 billion of business and property development projects in twenty eastern states using private and government financing sources. He was an officer and ten-year board member of the National Council for Urban Economic Development (now International Economic Development Council), and he co-chaired the Small Business Finance Specialty Committee. In the late 1970s he was the primary creator of SBA's Section 503-504 loan program, and in 1981 he was the founder and first president of the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO) - the trade association. In 1993 he was elected to NADCO's "Hall of Fame" for his role in creating the 504 program.
He has other commercial, mortgage and investment banking experience, and he has a MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics from Lawrence University in Wisconsin.
Michael Schwartz
Mike is the co-founder and is an Advisor to Chesapeake Business Finance Corp. A former commercial banker in Philadelphia, he is one of the most experienced 504 loan program professionals in the country. He was a senior staffer with Mid-Atlantic Business Finance Corp. in Maryland, and was responsible for nearly half of its Section 504 loan volume while there. He also is founder and president of DelVal Business Finance Corp, a Section 504 CDC in Philadelphia.
He was a Director of the National Development Council and was responsible for packaging several hundred million dollars of business and real estate development projects using government loan programs and private loan and equity sources - including SBA 504 and 7a financing. He has served on the Board and on various committees of the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO). He has other commercial lending and real estate development experience, and he has a BA from Temple University in Philadelphia with majors in History and Finance.
David A Daniels, Jr
Dave is a Vice President and a member of the business development team at Chesapeake. He has more than five years of 504 loan program experience.
He is the Secretary for the Chesapeake Chapter of the RMA Board of Govenors and a Past President of the Loyola College Alumni Association. He has over twenty years of commercial lending and leasing experience. He has a BA from Loyola College in Maryland with a major in Accounting and a MAS from The Johns Hopkins University with a Finance concentration.
